There are so many laws in this world that sometimes it might seem like they are being made up every day by the hundreds. Depending on the particular area of law that you decide to focus on will determine which type of lawyer that you are. If you choose that you want to focus on family law, you will spend very little time learning about the ins-and-outs of business law.

In family law, you will focus on domestic and family matters. Your area of study will be learning all the laws that pertain to things like marriage, adoption, and paternity testing. Making sure that you know every law and every single way that they can be used to work in favor of you and your client will be your primary focus when you specialize in family law.

If you decide that you want your focus to be on criminal law, you will be working hard at learning all the criminal codes that exist. Even if the law is old and outdated, if it is still in the legal books, you will want to make sure that you know it. There are many laws that are sometimes overlooked because of the rare use of them, but by focusing all your study on criminal law, it will be highly important that you know them and how they could possibly work in your favor at some point or another.

There are many different areas of the law that you could decide you want to focus your studies on. Perhaps you want to be an environmental lawyer or even an estate planning lawyer; there is a niche for every single type out there for you to find and insert yourself into.

These are two Ivy League schools that are known for their law programs and their ability to turn out top notch lawyers.

Regardless of why you want to become a lawyer or which niche you want to fit yourself into, this can be an incredibly rewarding career choice for many people. Finding what you want to focus on and devoting your life to it is a hard road to travel down, but one that in the end is worth the pain and tears that you put into it because you are going to love the work that you do.
